Wow. When I arrived at Indian Cottage I definitely didn't expect it to be this good. To get into the main part of the restaurant you need to walk down a corridor and when you do get in it's not long before you spot karaoke equipment. I was worried that the restaurant might trade on this gimmick at the expense of the food.

I was so wrong. Our waiter was super friendly and got us a nice table. We ordered quickly (being starving). I chose the fish pakora while my partner went for the chicken pakora. Then we ordered a lamb Rogan Josh and a chicken and a lamb Malaidar with a side of rice and Peshwari naan to share.

Oh my gosh the pakora was some of the best I've had. I love fish pakora but you don't always see it on menus and I wonder if that's because it's hard to get right. This was definitely right. The fish was tender and the batter with light, crisp and just slight spiced. We knew that if the mains were as good as the starters we were in for a treat.

They were! There was something different about the lamb Rogan Josh compared to other versions of the dish I've tried. Maybe a slightly different blend of spices? I'm not sure but it was delicious. My partner was surprised (and delighted) by how hot his Malaidar was.

I'm unable to list my top five favourite curry places in Glasgow because Glasgow is seriously good at curry and it's just too hard. What I can tell you is that Indian Cottage is now definitely in the top five. I unfairly expected a kind of average meal and what I got turned out to be a heck of a treat.

Came here for a hen-do and wasn't sure what to expect. I thought 'curry karaoke' and my heart sank as been to one before and there was hardly any food and over priced drinks. Wrong here!

Food was tasty and plentiful. Served on sharing platters but extra portions brought to the table if you wanted it. Lets face it, this is always important when the poppadoms are served.

Pakoras and samosas to start and tasty enough and pretty typical of what you'd find in an Indian restaurant/take away.

Curry's were lovely. Fresh, lots of meat in the chicken curry's and the veggie curry was super tasty. Rice and naans served too. I was really impressed with the food and the wine was around £16 a bottle.

We paid around £20 a head for meal (3 courses, I didn't have dessert) but as a party group this included a glass of prosecco and a shot.

Service friendly and efficient. No issues and I'd go to a night out here again.

I guess the walkway into this Indian restaurant is  quite cheesey and the decor itself ain't what you would call 'modern' or 'pristine', however what it may lack in style? It makes up for with scummy food and humble and obliging staff. I've been twice now as the Groupon deal offered is fantastic for the food you get!!! .... 2 courses for 2 people @ £13.50 .... Which includes your rice or nan bread - a suggestion? Get one nan and one rice ... That way you'll have the best of both as a very generous portion

If you're looking for a nice wee quickly served Indian with friendly staff and really great authentic and succulent food when you're out and about in Glasgow? ... Give this place a try ... You'll not be let down ....  ... I'll be back again xx

This one is a hard one to rate so I'm staying on the fence

    There are positives and negatives

Biggest positive was how accommodating and friendly the staff are
    The drinks are inexpensive
The food comes quickly and hot

Negatives are the interior is very worn and run down, portion sizes where very small and actually the smallest I've had in a restaurant, the Large silver bowls made it look a lot until you scooped it on to your plate

However the garlic bread was amazing

All in all I enjoyed my food and visit however I will go somewhere that's a little more looked after and better portions next time

My friend and I were hungry for curry, and she found this Indian place close by my flat. I've never noticed it before, despite the fact that I literally walk past it every day. I've seen the Indian take away right next to it, but apparently it has a restaurant too. Who knew...
As we entered the restaurant with golden walls of glitter (that's right, also in the restrooms), funky Indian tunes were playing and the waitress was singing along. The atmosphere was homey. The place is slightly trashy in the sense that the valentine's decorations were still up, and most of the doors to the toilet booths wouldn't lock properly, but the food made up for all of this!! So authentic, spicy and filling! Never had so great Indian food in my life! I had a spicy chicken marsala curry, and my friend ordered a curry with extra coconut milk. Both tasted incredible. If you're into Indian, you have got to go here! I know, I will be back!
